They say it’s in the darkest of the night the stars shine the brightest. From the ashes of my darkest moment, a passion of mine was born and not only brought twilight but clarity and purpose to my life.
Welcome! I’m Lily, the gal behind True North Nomad. Upon receiving a “terminal” diagnosis my life began, as did this blog. On a crusade to revitalize my health – in mind, body and spirit, these pages serve as a collection of memories, adventures and bumbled excursions. A dynamic Canadian duo, Q and I have set out to live a nomadic existence and photograph, write about and eat our way across this amazing continent from the largest of cities to the tranquillity of nature. Our mission is to offer healing and hope when life appears to have turned against you. We will explore our inner fears and desires as well as the countryside while giving you a front row seat to our successes and our failures.
The duration of time we spend on this earth is known only to the stars and we hope we can inspire you to live fully and authentically in whatever time we’re given. We are grateful you have chosen to spend your time with us. Again, welcome to True North Nomad. A Canadian Exploring – A Journey of Body & Soul!

You’ve no idea how passionate I am about our great neighbor to the north. Have only had the pleasure of visiting the eastern half (three times so far). Can never get enough and certainly want to discover the rest of Canada. Came close to moving to NS many years ago. I look forward to reading more. Glad I found you–and thanks for the like.

Great blog! I noticed your copyright still has 2016. Always a challenge to keep everything up to date, isn’t it?! One year, it was May before I noticed my copyright was the wrong year, sigh. 🙂

Thank you for the follow. I’m looking forward to learning more about Canadian culture. I’m a Londoner who has recently relocated to the States but if I’m honest, its always been my dream to head further north and live in Canada where I’ve always felt very at home.
Maybe one day… 😊

Great description! I will have to check out your links as well. I grew up in the Great Lakes area and had a passion for canoeing and photography. Maple syrup is about the best thing on the planet. I still fondly recall the grade one field trip to go see how it was collected and made. Now I am out west and love to write about Alberta cold and Edmonton festivals.

I’m not sure how many I’ll be doing in the near future, but here are two:
Orange Clouds, Rainbow Sun Dogs, Blue-White Snow

Harbinger of Winter Does Not Stop Festival City

I recently posted winter photos from Ontario–on the shore of Lake Ontario and a dark park in Oshawa.
As for Alberta, I’ve been reblogging a friend’s road trip posts (so I can live vicariously). Hopefully, I’ll get to the mountains myself this summer and make a post.
I am entranced by the number of provinces and territories you have visited–looked at your gallery. I see you have also been to the Bruce Peninsula. I recently wrote a blog about it because I would like to return there for a visit.
